Is chiropractic care safe for children?

Yes. Our practitioners treat babies from one day old. About 60 % of our clientele are children and we see around 1,000 different children each year. Adverse reactions are extremely rare. Our treatments on children are gentle, safe and effective.

What is applied kinesiology?

Applied kinesiology is a diagnostic tool using the muscles of the body to aid in the examination of a patient. Its use allows immediate feedback, aiding the practitioner in making decisions on how best to care for you.

Throughout the world applied kinesiology is a postgraduate course with training only offered to registered health professionals.

Are your services covered by our private health fund?

Chiropractic care is covered by most private health fund policies (i.e. MBF, NIB, Medibank). The amount that you can claim depends on the fund and type of cover you have. Please check your policy for further information.

At Your Body Works we provide HICAPS which means you can swipe your private health fund card on the spot and you only pay the difference.

Are your services covered by Medicare?

Appointments are not covered by Medicare. Chiropractic care is covered by most private health fund policies. The amount that you can claim depends on the fund and type of cover your child has. Please check your policy for further information.

Do you accept DVA, WorkCover or any other third party payer?

Your Body Works is a privately funded clinic. We are not part of any national medical scheme. As a patient at this clinic you agree to pay for consultations in full at the time of your appointments. We do not run accounts nor accept payments from third party payers on your behalf. Your Body Works does not accept Medicare Cards, Work Cover, Seniors Cards, DVA, Concession Cards or any other card which may entitle you to reduced medical fees in government subsidised establishments.

We do however welcome you to present your private health fund card at the time of payment for on-the-spot HICAPS claiming.

Will I need x-rays?

Depending on what your patient history reveals, you may or may not require x-rays. If your practitioner determines that an x-ray is required, you will be referred to a diagnostic imaging centre. Provided you have a current Medicare card (i.e. you are an Australian citizen), your spinal x-rays can be bulk billed. Peripheral x-rays (e.g. knees, wrists) if recommended by a chiropractor cannot be bulk billed.
